Damian lead the 2012 filmmaking workshop for “The Maroon Chronicles”

Cuban-born visual and performance artist and videographer Damian Rojo has exhibited his work extensively across the United States and abroad since 1984, in venues such as the Bas Fisher Invitational and Locust Projects in Miami; the American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore; the Modern Primitive, Atlanta; Domestic Settings, Los Angeles; and the Now Gallery in New York and London. He has worked as art director for MTV Latin America and for shows in the MTV Unplugged series including Erykah Badu, Fiona Apple, Jewel, and the Wallflowers. He has designed and constructed sets for Ornette Coleman, David Byrne, Yma Sumac, Nine Inch Nails, Grace Jones, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein. He is one-half of the fashion design team Rana Rajo,

Damian has worked with at-risk youth through outreach programs with the Adrianne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Met Life’s Dance for Life and Art for Learning’s After School All Stars. He has conducted numerous workshops with Carnival Arts at Miami Bridge in videography, sound recording, lighting, set building, and maskmaking. He is working with the young artists in designing the Carnival Arts exhibit at mia galleries and leading the workshops fabricating the hanging banners and giant costumes.
