Carnival Arts is an arts learning program and arts collective that promotes new work inspired by the carnival traditions of drumming, dance, and maskmaking of the Caribbean and Latin America. Since 2007, more than 100 artists and more than 500 Barry University students have explored these traditions to more than 1500 young people living in youth crisis shelters across the state of Florida through workshops directed by professional artists.
Our longest-running partnership has been with Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, which provides temporary, emergency shelter to more than 600 10 to 17 year-olds each year.
