SCRIPT
Presentation (20 minutes)
- Snake, pedicab with Ton Ton and Weezies enter through loading dock, head East on 34th Street to front of forum to perform yanvalou
- Boat, Dancers, pedicab with Matisou and Malik enter through loading dock head west on 34th Street, perform Bel Kongo in between bleachers
- Bel Kongo boat, singers, dancers proceed down Indian Creek and up 33rd Street to front of forum
- Singers array on stair case, drummers join Ton Ton, Boat put down by scuplture, Weezies dance around boat, Kongo dancers and singers perform Bel Kongo
- Snake goes west on 33rd Street to join Scavengers
Chase (5 minutes)
- Bel Kongo ensemble heads north on Collins Ave (cue: when Rara group passes)
- As Scavengers approach, Kongo performs “Aide’m, Krye”
- Scavengers chase Bel Kongo onto 35th Street
Battle (10 minutes)
- Weezy dancers join Gueirreros in fight — with their dance moves!
- Vultures charge Boat/La Siren with carts
- Bel Kongo Singers with banners and snake protect Boat/La Siren
- Park Elevator opens with Siren Court — battle freezes
- Sing off: Siren Queen + Kongo Queen vs. Scavenger Queen
- Siren + Kongo Queen win
Triumphal March (5 minutes)
- Siren Queen leads procession down Collins to 36th Street singing “Cherish Your Light”
- Bel Kongo follows, performing “La Siren, La Balen”
- Gueirreros guard Scavengers until Bel Kongo safely on road, then follow Bel Kongo, performing maculele
- Scavengers follow, reprise “When I Am Laid in Earth”
