The Miami Bridge Youth Program joined us on April 14th, 2019 for the Carnival Parade. The Carnival Parade takes place every year, each time with a different theme from a different country. This year, we decided to go with the country Haiti. The Carnival Parade is a way for the kids from the Youth program to escape reality and the difficult situations that they might be in just like the people from past times that participated in the carnivals. They would slave during the day and then would escape at night to celebrate and get away from difficult situations that they faced during the day. The students got dress up in costumes that they made earlier in the year for the celebration.
